PONY TREK in Mustang:
Nepal is a unique and rare destination

have an opportunity to visit Buddhist Monasteries and Muktinanth
Temple , a sacred place for the Tibetan Buddhists
and the Hindus devotees. It is believed that all miseries and
sorrow are relieved once you visit the Temple of Muktinanth (
Mukti means nirvana / salvation and Nath means God). It is
situated in the district of Mustang and is about 18 kilometers
northeast of Jomsom at an altitude 3760 meter. The
principal shrine is a pagoda-shaped Temple dedicated to Lord
Vishnu. There are 108 holy water spot which is set into
the wall around the Temple. The Jwala Mai Temple nearby contains a
spring and eternal flame fed by underground natural gas which is

Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport
and transfer to hotel:
Prior to landing in the Tribhuvan International Airport, you
could have some excellent views of Himalayan ranges, after custom
clearance, meet with our tour coordinator and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu
1367 meter:
After breakfast sightseeing tour on Kathmandu Durbar-Square,
which it is situated in the heart of the Kathmandu city, it is
called also Hanuman
Dhoka- an ancient residence of King. This
entire Royal Palace complex is full of historical monuments,
stone statue of Hanuman and next to the
Golden Gate of the Palace,
the powerful protector of the entire Durba-Square. Visit Taleju Temple,
one of the tallest Powerful Goddess Temple
is 36.6 meter high, Lord
Krishna Temple which
was built in 1649 AD by King Pratap Malla on memory of his favorite
two dead Queens,
Jaggannath Temple, a famous
for erotic arts. Visit huge stone statue of Kalbhairab, a
ferocious form of Lord Shiva, Living Goddess Temple
and Kasthamandap which
built on 12th century by wood of single tree, hence Kathmandu
obtains its name from this historic building.
Visit Swayambhu
Nath Stupa which is situated
on a hillock, it provides incredible views of Kathmandu valley
and Himalayan ranges. The tradition in the Stupa follows
the Vajrayana form of Buddhism which is a tantric variation of
the Mahayana Buddhism (the great vehicle).
Visit Pasupatinath Temple,
literally means" Lord of Animals" and famous Shrines for Hinudes
devotees. Two storied golden roofed pagoda style Temple has four
silver doors. Enroture visit Boudhananth
Stupa, it is called also little Tibet, which Stupa is the largest
in South Asia. In surrounding area can experience lifestyles
of Tibetan People and monks.
Day 03: Sightseeing tour in
Patan and Bhaktapur:
After breakfast drive to Patan, the city of art and beauty,
which it was founded in 3rd century AD by King Veera Deva. Visit
Krishna Temple, Taleju Temple, Bhimsen Temple, Golden Gate and
main courtyards of Patan Durbar.
Visit Bhaktapur,
the city examples of wood-carving. Bhaktapur meaning the city of
devotees was founded
by King Ananda Dev in 1197 AD according to the Gopala Raj Vamsabali.
Visit Lion Gate,
the two Lions symbolizes the elements of power and protection, Golden
Gate, the entrance of Taleju complex, Stone column of
King Bhupendra Malla seated atop one stone column in an attitude
of prayer to Taleju Bhavani. Taleju Temple,
a powerful Goddess,
55 windows Palace, a supreme wooden architectural
structure, Vastala Temple, Mother
Goddess Durga, Pasupatinath Temple, Natapola
Temple, the
temple of five basic elements. Bhairav Nanth Temple,
ferocious form of Lord Shiva, Dattatreya Temple, the
combined incarnation of the tree supreme Gods- Bhrahma, Visnu
and Shiva, Peacock
window and Pottery square, then drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight
stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 04: Fly or drive to Pokhara 900
meter:
This is the second largest valley in Nepal which is situated
about 200 km west of Kathamdnu and its climate is mild. It
takes about 30 minutes by flight and six hours by driving. It
is surrounded by beautiful lush hills. Brahman, Chhetri, Gurung,
Magar, Newar, Thakali and Muslim people are living in the Pokahra
valley. It provides excellent views of Annapurna South ( 7219
meter), Machhapuchare Himal ( Fishtail Mountain), Annapurna I (
8091 meter), Annapurna III and Iv also
beautiful lakes. Overnight stay at Pokhara.
Day 05: Early morning fly from Pokhara to Jomsom 2720
meter, it takes about 25 minutes.
Jomsom (2713 meter),
This is a popular place of Mustang region where the administrative headquarter
for this region, Government official and airport are situated. Also
Merchants are busy in the distribution of goods at this spot. Great
chance to visit Mustang Eco Museums.
Commence trek to Tukuche 2590 meter. Tukuche means
'Land of Abundant Grain' It was an important place during
the transhimalyan salt trade. It was the Custom Post whereTibetant
and Nepalese traders exchanged salt with grain. Visit Rani
Gomba, this Monastery was renovated in 1836 by Queen Subarna
Prabha Devi Shah, the second wife of King Rana Bahadur Shah. Since it
is called Rani Gomba. Actually its orginal name was Tashi
Choin, it means " Religion's Isle of Blessing". It said
that the followers of Kagyu-Pa sect, it was founded in
the early 1600s. Later 1962-23, it was restored and converted to
the Nyingma-Pa sect. This Monastery has Buddha
and other deities. Vist Mahakala Gomba, it
means fierce male deity. It was built in
1930. It is said that this icon was brought from Tibet. The Monastery has beautiful
images of Guru Rimpoche ( Padmasambhava),
Buddha and other deities. Overnight stay at
Trekking lodge in Tukcuhe.
Day 06: After breakfast,excursion to Koban and
Larjung village:
Koban village 2560 meter:
This is one of the most popular village in Mustang district.
It is separated from Larjung village by a small stream. Koban
and Larjung are the places of religious and ancestral significance
for four Thakali clans:- Gauchen, Tulachan, Sherchan and Bhattachan, who
believed that their founidng ancestors
first came to this village. Each clan has its own animal deity-
Gauchan ( Elephant), Tulachan (Seamonster), Serchan ( Lioness)
and Bhattachan ( Yak). The Temple of deities of Sherchan and
Tulachan are in Larjung village and Bhattachan are in Koban.
Visit Lha-Kang Gomba: This is a Nyingma-Pa
sect monastery which is situated at Nakung village. Originally
it was Shakya-Pa Monastery and once considered among major Monasteries
holding Lal Mohar (Lit.red Royal Seal) of Thak
Satsae region. It was reconstructed in 1935-36. It
looks after jointly by three villages: Larjung, Nakung and
Naurikot. The Monastery has images of Buddha, Dakpo (
the firesce diety), Raktaryalokesvara ( red bodied), Gonpo (
Vajrayana diety) and Guru Rimpoche ( Padmasambhava).
Visit Khanti cave: This
is a picturesque complex, there is serval water ponds
inside the cave. It is believed that this cave marked the border
between Nepal and Tibet in historic times. It is believed that
Guru Rimpoche ( Padmasambhava)
was meditated in this cave. Thousand of Buddhist devotees visit
the cave every year. Overnight stay at lodge in Tukuche/ Larjung.
Day 07: Trek to Marpha village 2680 meter:
This is the most beautiful village in Mustang
region. White stoned walled houses, stone paved way, life
styles of Thakali people are another attraction for visitors.
In the main centre of village, there is a intereseting Gomba
which is called Tashi Lhakhang Monastery. A
masked- dance festival of Tibetant Buddhism will organize
every year at October. It provides excellent views of snowy mountains.
Day 08: After breakfast, excursion to Dhimpa Lake
and Kychab Terang Gomba 2850 Meter:
It is said that Kychab means
the things had been kept instead of human physical. Tera means
precious stone ( Jewels). Ang means five. It is
believed that Guru Rimpoche ( Padmasambhava) was meditation
in this place. This Monastery was founded by Lama Longtet Andhon
Pasang. The matter was about 1100 years ago, Longtet Lama was borne
at Thini village. In young stage, he went to Syame in Tibet
where he learned Buddhism by Guru Rinjhi Chelpo Dhu
Jul. When he had finished the philosophy of
Buddhism. He had received a precious Kychab Terang from
Guru Rinji. Guru said that it is put in your beautiful
palce and worship always. At the same time, Lama Longtet
asked to Guru, where would be better to keep it. Guru
said that the place is magnificent, where is silvery mountains
in right side, beautiful river is in left side, At the middle
portion, a big black stone is situated in Elephant head hill
and in-front of the hill, situated a beautiful
holy lake which is called Dhimpa Lake. According to advice of Guru
Rinjhi, he had put precious Kychab Terang in this place. Then
return back to Kagbeni for overnight 2840 meter.
Day 09: Trek to Muktinanth 3760,
Muktinanth Temple, a sacred
place for the Tibetan Buddhists and the Hindus devotees. It is
believed that all miseries and sorrow are relieved once you visit
the Temple of Muktinanth (
Mukti means nirvana / salvation and Nath means God) Overnight
stay at lodge in Muktinanth.
Day 10: Explore Muktinanth.
Day 11: Trek to Jomsom
2720 meter. Overnight at Jomsom.
Day 12: Early morning fly from Jomsom to Pokhara.
Check into hotel in Pokhara.
Day 13: Afternoon fly
back to Kathmandu. Check into hotel.
Day 14: Departure to airport to connect the
flight to onward destination.
